Fernandes, Isabel

Isabel has been working as a missionary in Portugal for 38 years, accumulating deep experience regarding the country's spiritual reality. Since 1989, she has witnessed the rapid transition from a traditionally Catholic society to a deeply secularized context, marked by materialism, agnosticism, and a strong skepticism toward institutional faith. Today, Portugal is one of the most challenging mission fields in the world.

Faced with this complex reality, she understood that to reach the Portuguese, it was urgent to move beyond conventional methods. And so a project was born: Missionary Entrepreneurship. Through the artisanal production of sweets and seasonings, she has entered the local market and daily life. This strategy serves as a platform for closeness and a relational bridge, breaking down the prejudices that the formal title of "missionary" often creates, sparking natural conversations about Christ in the marketplace and the community.

The impact of this model also extends to education. She teaches Evangelical Moral and Religious Education in public schools, which opens strategic doors to bless children, parents, and teachers.

Currently, with this same vision, she is involved in two church-planting projects in different cities.

Planting churches in spiritually resistant soil like Portugal requires a long-term vision and innovative tools. Investing in this ministry is not merely about supporting a work; it is about enabling an entrepreneurial model that works—one that penetrates where the traditional church cannot reach and transforms lives through daily relationships. We invite you to partner with us in this project on European soil.
