Scott and Heather serve in Germany at Black Forest Academy (BFA). Black Forest Academy provides a quality, international Christian education that equips its students to influence their world through biblical thought, character, and action. It offers schooling options for students living in the area and a boarding school option for grades 9-12. Their mission is to support missionaries from around the world by serving the children of those missionaries through education as well as providing emotional, relational, and spiritual care.
Scott teaches Math and Science at BFA, and helps coach the cross-country and track teams. Heather helps out at BFA in various ways such as playing the Oboe in various musical events.
Together, Scott and Heather also serve the local community in partnership with a local church; FEG Kandern. This includes hospitality, Bible studies, short-term foster care, women’s ministries, and discipleship. Their heart's desire is to provide a place of belonging for those who need a family.
Scott and Heather were both called by God to be missionaries from early childhood. Throughout the years they served on many short-term teams and ministered in both the United States and Europe (Slovenia, Czech, and Germany).
In 2011 God called Scott and Heather and their children to Weimar, Germany as tentmaker missionaries while Scott served for ten years as a math teacher at a secular English-speaking international school.
In 2020 they felt the call to transition into full-time mission work, partnering with Black Forest Academy. It was a calling that God had placed on Scott’s heart in 2002. They returned to Oregon in July 2021 to raise support and then returned to Germany in July 2022.
Their four children are Stanley, Holly, Stuart, and Samuel.
